Easy CuePicker

Description

A visual cue browser for grandMA3 that lets you trigger or load cues from one or more sequences by clicking large, clearly visible buttons — directly on any display, without opening pools or navigating menus.

The plugin works in two stages: run it with no argument to open the Settings window and create a macro, then run that macro to open the Picker with your cue buttons ready to use. All configuration is stored inside the macro argument — one plugin instance can drive any number of different picker layouts simultaneously.

Key Features:

• Multi-Sequence Support — display cues from multiple sequences or wildcard group patterns side by side in one window
• Goto & Load Modes — switch between immediately running a cue (Goto) or staging it on standby (Load) with a single click on the title bar
• Appearance Thumbnails — each cue button shows the fixture appearance icon (colour swatch or gobo image) so you always know what the cue does at a glance
• Active / Loaded Highlight — the currently running or loaded cue is highlighted automatically, updated in real time
• Custom Row Labels — click any row label to type a custom name via the MA3 on-screen keyboard; the name is saved directly into the macro argument and persists across restarts
• Row Name Modes — choose how row labels are displayed: Sequence name, Group name, or your own Custom label
• Wildcard Pattern Matching — target sequences using patterns like Group * Colors; results are sorted automatically by the captured value
• Flexible Target Formats — combine sequence numbers, exact names, wildcard patterns, and comma-separated lists freely across rows
• Inline Gear Settings — adjust button size, items per row, and display toggles live from inside the picker window without closing it
• Multi-Display — open the picker on any grandMA3 screen (External, Internal, Small) from both the Settings and the Picker window title bar
• Self-Contained Macros — no extra files or configuration; everything is encoded in the macro argument string

Settings Window

Run the plugin with no argument to open the Setup window. Here you configure:

• Macro # and Name — which macro slot to create and the label shown in the pool (auto-fills the next free slot)
• Items / Width / Height — maximum cue buttons per row and the pixel size of each button
• Sequence Targets — one or more rows, each defining a sequence or group to show in the picker. Supported formats:

My Sequence      →  exact sequence name
Group * Colors   →  wildcard pattern (sorted by captured value)
48,49            →  comma list: two sequences in one row

Click [ + ] to add a target row, [ − ] to remove one, then hit Create Macro. The macro is written with all settings encoded in its argument.

Picker Window

Run the created macro to open the Picker. Each cue appears as a button showing its appearance icon and name. Click a button to run or load the cue. Each row has an Off button at the end to stop that sequence.

Click the row label on the left of any row to open the MA3 keyboard and type a custom name. The name is saved to the macro argument instantly.

The ⚙ gear button in the title bar opens the inline settings popup:

• Names — show or hide cue name text inside buttons
• Appearances — show or hide appearance icons inside buttons
• Row Name — Sequence / Group / Custom display mode for row labels
• Items / Width / Height — adjust grid layout live; hit Apply to save back to the macro

Macro Argument Format

The macro argument is human-readable and can be edited manually:
