Description

GridReflect builds your selection grid from where the fixtures actually hang.
Select, press, pick a view, it measures the rig and lays out the grid itself.

Think of it as a rig scanner for your selection grid.

Every effect you run travels across the selection grid. A fan should follow the
truss, not jump across it. A wing of 2 should mirror stage left against stage
right. That only works when the grid matches the room and building that grid
by hand, on a rig of hundreds of fixtures, is an hour you do not have.

GridReflect reads the real 3D position of every fixture you selected and lays
out a grid that matches. There is nothing to fill in. Select your fixtures,
press the plugin, and pick the view you want: front, top, side, symmetrical, or
circle. It measures the pitch, the angle, the rows and the layers, writes the
grid, and tells you what it found.

It reads pixels, not just fixtures. Select the cells of a pixel bar and each
pixel becomes its own light point, at its own position, with its own address.
A bar of sixteen beams lands as sixteen adjacent columns so a fan runs along
the bar instead of stepping over it.

Flat when you need it flat. A switch on the menu lays the grid out in 3D or
2D. It changes nothing about the measuring the same pitch, the same angle, the
same rows so you can flip between the two without measuring again. Use 3D when
depth should keep trusses apart, 2D when the grid is heading for a layout view
or a pixel map.

It survives a drawing that is not perfect. Fixtures that hang symmetrically
are rarely drawn symmetrically. GridReflect pulls mirror partners together on
all three axes, so a pair drawn a centimetre apart still ends up as a pair. A
bar hung a quarter turn still gets its cells in a neat block instead of smeared
across the grid.

It tells you what it could not do. Cells that have no position in the
fixture type, fixtures without a readable address, light points that had to move
because two of them wanted the same cell all of it is in the report, with the
reason. Nothing disappears quietly.

And it is fast. A rig of 4,594 light points is measured and written in
seconds, not minutes.

There is a second half, too: Cell Order mirrors the cell order of
multi-instance fixtures (GRIDINVX) so that an effect runs the same direction on
both sides of the stage. It has no settings, works on any selection, and takes a
snapshot first so you can undo it.

Both halves write through the console’s own undo. Nothing else in your show is
touched not your patch, not your presets, not your sequences.

Made for grandMA3 2.4.2. The plugin is plain Lua inside your showfile; you are
welcome to read it.
