Programmer Mode lets you instantly calculate positions for the fixtures currently selected in the Programmer—perfect for live programming, partial selections, and quick adjustments.
Preset Mode automatically creates complete sets of Position Presets for entire fixture groups. Simply choose the desired Tilt and Pan combinations, select the destination, and let the plugin do the rest.

Known Limitations
The Position Preset Plugin is based on MAgics, and therefore inherits some of the current limitations of the underlying workflow. At the moment, position presets can only be generated for fixtures that share the same physical orientation. Fixtures rotated relative to each other on the X, Y, or Z axis cannot currently be processed together.
In practice, this is rarely a problem, as positions can simply be generated truss by truss or for fixture groups with the same orientation.
In addition, small installation tolerances may require individual fixture adjustments. grandMA3’s Store Offset workflow is the recommended way to compensate for these minor differences while keeping all generated position presets perfectly consistent.
We are continuously working on further improving these limitations in future versions.
Advanced Offset Handling
Recommended: Setup Manager
Small differences between the 3D model and the real stage are completely normal and almost impossible to avoid. As a result, minor position offsets are part of nearly every production.
The Setup Manager plugin makes correcting these offsets fast and easy by applying fixture-specific adjustments, so your generated position presets match the real-world setup with minimal effort.
Tips
When working with fixture groups that contain an odd number of fixtures, open the Settings menu by clicking the gear icon in the upper-right corner of the plugin.
There you can enable Middle Mode, which optimizes the calculation for odd fixture counts and produces more symmetrical position layouts.
