Please describe your opinion of the plugin’s user interface? What did you like, what did you not like and do you have any suggestions for improvement?
Its pretty straight forward designed and let me find everything for a good flyout without searching . The only thing i would love to see in it would be the option to pick a MAtrick object out of the pool .
Could you please provide your opinion on the functionality of the plugin? Describe what features worked well for you, what could be improved, and if there are any specific function.
Preset selection in multiple rounds worked great for me

I have been working with MA3 for over two years as a system technician, for more than a year I have been operating almost every show on MA3. I am employed by a large full service provider for event technology and specialize in lighting, lighting networks and consoles. There, as well as in my self-employment as an operator, I now mostly prefer MA3 hardware.

How smoothly the installation process of the Grandma3 plugin went and if any issues encountered were quickly resolved?
Easy as every plugin, LUA-script or other media files.
Could you please describe how helpful the included plugin user manual was for you?
I only used the manual when experimenting with the plugin in a test showfile but in most cases the plugin is very self-explanatory.
I did miss a few sentences to the ratio and transition settings.
Please describe your opinion of the plugin’s user interface? What did you like, what did you not like and do you have any suggestions for improvement?
The large plus-button next to the “from”-preset is a little confusing at first because I initially expected it to insert a second preset line (like the small plus on the right).
It#s also not really practical that you have to switch back to dimmer or values after using the MAtricks in order to reach the apply button
Could you please provide your opinion on the functionality of the plugin? Describe what features worked well for you, what could be improved, and if there are any specific function.
See answer 17: Accessing the apply button.
An interesting feature would perhaps be a small random generator for the transition / decel and accel values, so that every flyout created with the plugin looks a little bit different.
Please share your thoughts on the performance of the plugin. Did it meet your expectations in terms of speed and efficiency? Were there any performance issues you encountered?
The plugin makes it very convenient to quickly create smooth FlyOuts (in contrast to the FlyOuts in the MA phaser presets or the setting of the correct values by yourself).
Once I noticed a hickup of the plugin when using multiple rounds, which could only be fixed by restarting MA3. Unfortunately, I could not reliably reproduce this hickup for deeper tests.
What are the overall pros and cons?
+ Fast creating of smooth flyouts
– nothing noticeable to add
Would you recommend the plug-in, and why?
I would recommend this plugin especially for less experienced users (or lazy users) who are not so familiar with the phaser and curve math (or don’t want to strain their brain too much 😉 ).
For pro users it is another nice tool in the toolbox to create flyouts based on existing presets, but in my opinion, it remains just a nice little gadget and is not THE game changer.
Do you have anything else to add that could be helpful for other users?
nothing to add
I’ve been using Mode 2 for a while now and been thinking about switching over to mode 3 and a friend of mine showed me there plugin options and it was a big reason why I use mode 3 now.

Could you please provide your opinion on the functionality of the plugin? Describe what features worked well for you, what could be improved, and if there are any specific function.
So the issue is there is no way to store template like phasers within the plugin, I would love if there was like a “library” that can be customized

How smoothly the installation process of the Grandma3 plugin went and if any issues encountered were quickly resolved?
The installation of the add-on was very simple and did not present any problems.
Could you please describe how helpful the included plugin user manual was for you?
The user manual explains the add-on very well. I didn’t need to use any video and the reality is that the add-on is very intuitive.
Please describe your opinion of the plugin’s user interface? What did you like, what did you not like and do you have any suggestions for improvement?
The user interface is very powerful and intuitive. If I would add the way to be able to save that effect as a template to be able to load it again in the plugin
Could you please provide your opinion on the functionality of the plugin? Describe what features worked well for you, what could be improved, and if there are any specific function.
I found it to be a super useful complement that gives you the possibility of creating very original phasers. I would only add the option of saving the phaser as a template or within the complement or within a preset pool.
Please share your thoughts on the performance of the plugin. Did it meet your expectations in terms of speed and efficiency? Were there any performance issues you encountered?
The plugin allowed me to quickly create very nice phasers using the matricks in xyz and go to the show in 1 hour. I recommend it. It is very powerful. I did not find any problems with performance. I used it in onpc, command xt and fullzise.

The pros that you save time to make your phasers and cons I did not find it, it was very useful to me

I can only tell users to try it, whether they are beginners or advanced traders, it is for both.
Hi there! I’m Tommy from Hamburg. I started using Version 3 of the GrandMA Software for production round about the 1.8 update. Starting with small shows I gained a lot of experience how to use it and how to adapt my workflow to this new system. I do like the new features of Version 3 a lot and I’m far beyond the point where I don’t want to go back. At the moment I’m a young professional in the live event industry working for a relatively new lighting design studio here in Hamburg in the following professions: operator, designer, LD, media server engineer, system tech.
In the words of our plug-in pioneer
How smoothly the installation process of the Grandma3 plugin went and if any issues encountered were quickly resolved?
To be honest: It is as straight forward as it could be. One don’t even need to read the instructions to do so.(if familiar with MA3 of course)
Process is crystal clear as it only needs to be imported like any other object in MA3.
Could you please describe how helpful the included plugin user manual was for you?
User manual was clear about the interface itself. It described every knob and field and also mentioned some limitations.
I would like to see some pictures of the lighting or phaser output of different settings. So one who isn’t that familliar with the MA3 software yet could understand a little bit better what each button should do if something is working in his situation.
Please describe your opinion of the plugin’s user interface? What did you like, what did you not like and do you have any suggestions for improvement?
Generally speakin the interface is good. It could make use of some collors or numbers to indicate which section belong together or in which sequence someone should use it. Designwise the user interface could be bigger. Also more space between elements would create a cleaner look and makes it easier to “understand”.
Could you please provide your opinion on the functionality of the plugin? Describe what features worked well for you, what could be improved, and if there are any specific function.
I hate building fly-outs in the native phaser editor of the MA3 because it lacks a “per attribut/phaser-line measure” feature.
I used another fly-out plugin a lot but from now on I will use this fly out pro plugin because it has more features and is rock solid while working with it.
Please share your thoughts on the performance of the plugin. Did it meet your expectations in terms of speed and efficiency? Were there any performance issues you encountered?
I’m not really able to say something about this topic. I used the plugin a lot during my last programming sessions and had not had any errors or even crashs.
What are the overall pros and cons?
I like the fact that it doesn’t need to be licensed online via a usb stick like others do.
Price is really good for the feature set and it runs rock solid. I havent had any issues at all.
Would you recommend the plug-in, and why?
Yes I would. Because it is good plugin like stated above.
Do you have anything else to add that could be helpful for other users?
Not really. It’s a good bang for the buck. They should try it out!
