Description
Instance inverter for selection grids and layouts, useful for dealing with large numbers of pixel instances in GrandMA3.

There are many ways to accomplish pixel inversions in GrandMA3, either by modifying fixture profiles, changing control channel values, moving cells around in layouts, or using the built in GridStore tool. There will still be some situations where none of the above are ideal for you. I wrote this plugin to handle most of those more complex situations, and to provide a fast workflow for tackling common problems.
It works by iterating through a selection of fixtures, and swapping the grid locations and/or layout positions of instances much like the existing grid tools, however the big difference is that this tool will only swap positions inside a parent fixture.
I’ve found it to be super useful for fixtures which do not have a control channel to invert pixel orientation, or for inverting the orientation of some but not all of your pixel fixtures.
Operations
Flip Active Selection – This will invert all instance positions for all selected instances of all fixtures in the current selection grid, eg for each fixture, pixel 1 becomes pixel 20 and pixel 20 becomes pixel 1.
Flip Group Within Grid – As above, except only Invert the locations of any pixels which exist in a secondary group. A good workflow here is to run a test pattern, select the pixels of any fixtures which don’t look correct, store into a group, recall your original group and then run “Flip Group Within Grid” choosing the group created in the previous step.
Flip Selection 2 in Selection 1 – A quicker option for smaller tasks. Call group or make a selection, switch to Selection 2 using MATricks editor or “Selection 2” keyword, and select only the pixels which need to be flipped and then run the plugin.
Flip Layout Positions – Invert layout positions per fixture for all selected subfixtures in the currently selected layout.

Thanks for this plugin. It’s an excellent tool to avoid having to modify fixture instances. I think it’s excellent. I highly recommend it. I look forward to new updates.
